Welcome to
Record Community! We are a FREE
self-publishing web community for nonprofit organizations in Orange,
Pike, Ulster, Sullivan and Sussex counties in New York, New Jersey
and Pennsylvania.
What
is that web site you offer?
We offer you a limited size, remotely hosted webspace, which can
be used to host a link page or full site for any not-for-profit
organization located within The Times Herald Record circulation
area. (Orange, Pike, Ulster, Sullivan and Sussex counties in New
York and Pennsylvania)
Is
this service free?
Yes.
What additional
features does Record Community offer?
We offer you some pre-installed items, such as forum, guestbook,
templates. They can be accessed from your admin center. Site administrators
may also submit events to the Record
Community calendar. There is one calendar per county.
Do
you support FTP?
No. However, there is a file manager in your admin page that performs
that same functions.
How
much space do I have for my web site?
By default your space is limited to 750 kilobytes. This is a relatively
small amount of space, and is rapidly filled by the use of large
image files. Web sites can be created under Record Community or
you can use Record Community as an entry page to your already
existing web site.
Are
there any content limitations?
There are a few content limitations. The following is a non-exclusive
list of content and behaviors that are UNACCEPTABLE on Record
Community:
a. Content that contains or contains links to: nudity, pornography,
adult content, sex, or foul language.
b. Content that condones, promotes, contains, or links to warez,
cracks, hacks, their associated utilities, or other piracy related
information, whether for educational purposes or not.
c. Content that has been promoted through the sending of unsolicited
email (spamming) or mail fraud schemes, or pages that promote
or condone the sending of unsolicited email. Users who utilize
the resources of this service provider, including email addresses
for spam, are also subject to prosecution to the fullest extent
of the law.
d. Content that commits acts of copyright, trademark, patent,
trade secret or other intellectual property infringement.
e. Content that is racist, or otherwise extremely offensive to
others, including content which aggravates, harasses, threatens,
defames, or abuses others.
f. Having password-only, hidden, or restricted access pages (all
web pages must be accessible to the Internet community at large).
g. Sites that exploit images of children under 18 years of age.
Can
I place a paid banner ads on my site?
No, we do not allow paid advertisements on sites that are hosted
by Record Community.
